Growing up in and around New York City, I was exposed to an amazing, ongoing art education at a very young age. For as long as I can remember, I have loved to draw and have been in awe of the spectacular colors of life all around us. In my life, creating art is like breathing – it’s necessary and natural, and I rarely think about how or why I do it. Although I also work in other mediums which I thoroughly enjoy, I always come back to watercolor and the natural elements of our environment as centering factors in my love of painting. The result is often a wonderful and happy surprise. For me, the original idea is not always the same as the end result. In this land of enchantment called New Mexico, each of our days is luminous, magical, brilliant and filled with an abundance of joyous shapes and colors from sunrise to sunset. There is no place where the light is better than here. And, so like this mystical place, in my painter's eye, there is so much more to the sky than blue.
Many of my original paintings and limited edition Giclee prints of selected works can be found in private collections in New Mexico and around the country.
